Promoting quality in life, compassion in death and
support in bereavement through hospice care.
It all started with Arlene Kolosky in 2013; while courageously facing her end of life journey she recognized the need for Hospice Palliative Care in Moose Jaw. She had the privilege of experiencing her final days in the comfort of her own home, but knew that not everyone would be able to do the same. So, in May 2013 Arlene approached a few of her close friends and acquaintances to advocate for Hospice Palliative Care in Moose Jaw.
This group went on to establish an organization dedicated to achieve the dream of Hospice Palliative Care for Moose Jaw and surrounding area, and in November 2014 Heartland Hospice Moose Jaw Inc. was officially established as an organization. Today, there is an active Board of Directors consisting of 12 members that meet monthly to achieve Arlene’s, and the board’s, dream of a dedicated Hospice Palliative Care facility in Moose Jaw.
Heartland Hospice Moose Jaw Inc. works collaboratively with both the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) on initiatives to support the delivery of patient and family-centered care within palliative hospice care.
